Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH (BETTY) LOEPP (nee POETKER) December 8, 1925 - April 22, 2010 Betty moved on to her heavenly home peacefully on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Lions Manor Personal Care Home, at the age of 84 years. Remaining to forever cherish Betty's memory are her children Ken (Nancy), Wendy Maximilian (Charles), and Carson (Donna); grandchildren, Carla (Clint), Doug (Rachel), Rachel (Emil), Vanessa, Justin, Michael and Scott (Kim); great-grandchildren, Saylor, Mason, Payton, Ryan, Nolan, Reid, Emma, Sara, Harlan, and sister Mary Toews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter; parents John and Liese; and brothers John and Jake. She survived many challenges with her diabetes in the recent past. Always the elegant, courageous woman, Betty left this life as she lived it, with quiet dignity. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Betty was very active in many organizations which included the Winnipeg Lionelles; Quota Club; and Morija Circle. Together, she and Walter owned and operated several companies in Winnipeg including Rent-All-Centre, Trans Canada Building Cleaning and Lancaster Realty. She worked for OB Allen Jewelers, receiving a gemology certificate. Betty's family and friends remember her passion for sewing, baking, cooking, and entertaining. On Wednesday, May 5, Betty's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue, with Rev. Franz Wiebe, presider. For those who wish viewing will be held prior to the service. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway East at Navin Road. The family would like to thank the staff of the fourth floor in Lions Manor Personal Care Home for their attentive and compassionate care of Betty in her last few years. Should friends desire, donations in memory of Betty can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, in the hope that a cure for diabetes can be found. Death comes to let us know We love more deeply than we show, But love in death should let us see What love in life should always be.
