ROSE-ANN NEWMAN (nee Klatt) November 22, 1931 - April 30, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our Mum, Grandma and Great-Grandma, Rose-ann Newman on April 30, 2010; beloved wife of the late Edward (Tiny) Newman. Rose-ann will be sadly missed by her children Shirley (Don) Clark of The Pas, Jim Newman of Stonewall, Kathy (Chris) Dickens of Toronto, Diane Lowe of Calgary, David Newman (Helga Stelbrink) of Calgary; five grand-children Lisa, Don Jr. (Ann Marie), Michael (Allison), Jeff and Ryan; two great-grandchildren Evan and Asher. She is survived by brother Bill Klatt, sister-in-law Betty Peabody and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edward, daughter-in-law Bev, mother Julie and father William. Rose-ann was born November 22, 1931 in Grahamdale, MB and moved to Winnipeg in 1950 where she met and married the love of her life Edward. Together they raised five children and had many various business ventures throughout their married life until Edward's passing. After her retirement, Mum devoted most of her time to her family and as a volunteer for the Adult Day Program at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall. Mum was an avid supporter of the Salvation Army and was a Silver Star Mother. She enjoyed her church, the Stonewall United Church, crafting and playing with her great-grandson Evan, her greatest joy. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall with Rev. Leonard Oracheski officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the family. Interment to follow at the Stonewall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stonewall United Church or to the Salvation Army in Winnipeg. Mum (Nanny Rose) was deeply loved by all and will be missed and never forgotten. She will live in our hearts forever. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
