Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJULIA LOUISE SERGEANT (DELBAERE) January 10 1919 - May 1, 2010 Peacefully, at Riverview Health Centre, Julia went home to her eternal rest. Julia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe, in 2002, as well as her sisters Bertha, Adrienne, Mary and brother Archie. Left to cherish her memory are her son Robert (Irene) of Calgary and daughter, Jo-Anne Wade (Frank); grandchildren Jayson, Layton, Nicole (Spencer) and Sean; and great-grandchildren Victoria Ashley and Hayden. Julia was born and raised in St. Boniface and met Joe, the love of her life, when they were in the same acting group. They married, had their children, and dabbled in many business ventures, including owning the Union Stockyards Restaurant, where many extended family parties took place. Julia doted on her grandchildren and was always busy. Between sewing, bowling, archery and socializing at the Belgian Club, as well as travelling extensively with Joe, she lived a happy and fulfilled life. Many thanks to the staff on CD1 at Riverview, where Julia spent her final years. Their care, compassion and support were so comforting to the family. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, Windsor Park; Fr. Fred Olds presiding. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
