BRIAN JOSEPH MORROW ANDERSON -
Born: Mar 27, 1934
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN JOSEPH MORROW ANDERSON 1934 - 2010 Son of Arthur and Catharine (Morrow) Anderson, born March 27, 1934 and raised in Poplar Park. He was educated there and in East Selkirk and as a young man moved with his father and brother to Selkirk, where he lived the remainder of his life. In partnership with his father and brother, he managed the family business, Anderson Agencies Ltd., for nearly 50 years. He was a proud and long-standing member of Lisgar Lodge #2, and active in the business community until ill health forced him into retirement. He passed peacefully away at the Betel Home, Selkirk, on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Once established in Selkirk, Brian met and subsequently married Dorothy, and in due time their three daughters were born. He was a steadfast, loving father who delighted in his seven grandchildren and took immense pride in their achievements. As do all the Anderson men, Brian loved the Libau-Netley marsh, trapping and fishing, revisiting his boyhood, whenever the opportunity arose. Anderson's Corner was dear to him, and with his family he spent many summers at their cabin, where the children learned to appreciate nature, drive the gravel roads and make hot dog sticks from willow branches. Predeceased by his parents, wife, grandson Kyle, son-in-law David Blahitka, brothers-in-law Mac MacFarlane and Harold Goodmanson, he is survived by daughters Audrey (John) Wilgosh, Colleen Brooks and Erin Blahitka and their children: Michael and Sarah Wilgosh, Kelsey and Josh Brooks, Taylor and Jordan Blahitka. Left to lovingly remember him as well are his sister Dawn MacFarlane, brother Douglas and his wife Marilyn, nieces and nephew Kate, Carol and Gordon MacFarlane and Michele Serano, their spouses and children. Dorothy's sisters Pearl and Caroline, brothers David, Claude, and Eddie and their families will miss him too, as will special cousins and boyhood friends Bryce and Gary and others in the extended family. Brian's family would like to thank the capable staff at the Betel Home in Selkirk, who genuinely cared for and about him - especially Jen and his dear Agnes who brought fun and laughter into his life. Memorial services will be held in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, with interment of ashes in St. James Poplar Park Anglican Church Cemetery, The Venerable Archdeacon Godfrey Mawejje officiating. In lieu of flowers, Brian's family would appreciate donations made to World Vision Canada, or to a charity of choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
