ANNA M. KLIPPEL (nee PAHL) 1909 - 2010 It is with saddened hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly loved one on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the age of 100 years. Anna was born on December 14, 1909 in the Tupper district to Mary Martin and Wilhelm Pahl. She grew up and was educated in the Plumas, MB area and it was there she found her true love. At the tender age of 17 she married Philip Klippel and together they enjoyed 63 happy years. Most of their married life was spent in their home on Hoban Street in Brooklands. Anna was a hard worker. She and Philip always had a large vegetable garden and many beautiful flowers. She was a woman with a big heart. The love she had for her family was unwavering. She taught her children that it was important to love and care for each other. Anna was a social person. She loved to cook and bake. Friends and relatives were always welcomed with a big smile and warm hug. Her outlook on life was very positive. She saw goodness in everyone. Anna and Philip travelled to many places. They visited Hawaii, California, Florida, Yellowstone Park and throughout Canada from Coast to Coast. After the loss of her husband Philip, Anna lived for a short time in Victoria Beach and then moved to Selkirk; firstly at Woodland Courts and then to the Betel Home. There Anna made many new friends. She enjoyed taking part in all of the activities and most of all she loved the entertainment. She was often asked to sing a song or read a passage at a gathering. We are truly thankful to the Betel Home for the wonderful care Anna received. Anna will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Ruby (Ken) and Pat (Ed); son Garry (Elma); sister Dorothy Hill; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Philip; son Edward; brothers John, Bill, Douglas, Charlie; sister Eleanor and by her parents. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. The casket will be open prior to the service. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery. A caring, loving, gentle soul who will be greatly missed by anyone lucky enough to have known her. 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca Ample parking behind the funeral home.
