JEFFREY HOURIE Peacefully in his sleep, Friday, April 30, 2010, Jeff, aged 52 years old passed away at his residence in Selkirk. Jeff was predeceased by his parents Carl and Annie Hourie. He is survived by his brother Brian (Cheryl); sister Carolyn (Brian) Atkins; son Dustin Langlois; grandchildren Jessica, Brooklyn, Kingsley and Paxton, as well as nieces Crystal and Breanne; nephews Brett and Jaime and great-nephew Layne. His long time friends were Carol Langlois and Derrick Chambers. He will also be remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends. Jeff was born in Beausejour but grew up in Grand Marais, and later moved to Selkirk. He worked doing construction on apartment block on Eveline, then at Selkirk Tire where he worked for 18 years. After that he helped his brother Brian with the odd jobs. Jeff will be remembered for his love for his family as well as his friends. Jeff showed his love in numerous ways through his laughter, stories, being the protector but most of all being your friend. Funeral service will be on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, viewing will be Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be his son Dustin Langlois, Trevor Easter, Doug Lavallee, George Brown, Morgan Bear, Curtis Smith, Lonnie Hourie and Alwin Langlois. Honorary Pallbearers will be Derrick Chambers, Bradley Orvis, Chubby Langlois, Cliff Robinson and special Uncle Bob Crate. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
