Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES EDWARD WEIBEL We are sad to announce that on Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Grace Hospital, with his mother by his side, James left us. James was predeceased by his father and will be lovingly remembered by his son Paul; daughters Kalyn and Jamie, and their mother Laurie. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Shirley; brother, Kelly; sister, Jackie; and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. James was born in Winnipeg on October 12, 1956. After leaving John Taylor Collegiate, he had a career with National School Services. One of his fondest memories was the six months that he spent travelling throughout Europe. An enthusiastic manager, coach and player on the Jacx floor hockey team he was proud of his team's two city championships. A gifted artist he was able, through various mediums, to express his keen imagination. Friends will remember the nights spent jamming to James' drums and basement band of friends and fellow musicians. People were always amazed with his prolific memory of sports and music as well as his wide-ranging knowledge of general facts. He enjoyed spending time out on Lake Winnipeg and at the family home in Valhalla Beach where he took pride in maintaining the yard. It was here he became a member of the R.C.L. 182 and served one year as Sergeant-at-Arms. However, his greatest love was his three children. Sadly as an adult James suffered from an illness which prevented him from achieving his full potential in life. But his character and personality were not diminished by his illness. The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support. James' family would like to thank the staff on 3 North at the Grace Hospital who took such wonderful care of James, in particular Dr. Jarret Lobley and Nurse Amanda. A special thanks going to his cousin, Kurt Kelly and his aunt, Joyce Kelly who showed him such love and devotion. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk MB. Services will be officiated by Chaplain Major Roy Dueck. Viewing will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, a donation may be made to the Salvation Army, 203 - 290 Vaughn Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2N8. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
