MICHAEL CECIL JOHNSON April 7, 1987 May 1, 2010 It is with sad hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Michael Cecil Johnson on May 1, 2010. Michael was born in Teulon Hospital on April 7, 1987 to Lois Fridfinnson and Darrell (Sam) Johnson. He also leaves to mourn his older brother Keith Poleschuk, younger sister Bricey Johnson, and younger brother Dylan Johnson, grandparents Lillian Fridfinnson and Eigill and Evelyn Johnson. Michael was predeceased by his Afi Kjartan Fridfinnson, Aunt Lillian Stevens, Uncle Andrew (Andy) Johnson, and Uncle Cecil Johnson. He also leaves to mourn numerous aunts, uncles, cousin's and friends. Michael grew up in his earliest years in the Geysir area, later moving into the town of Arborg and most recently he resided in Winnipeg. Michael was talented in many ways, but none more so than music. He could play guitar, sing and entertain better than most before he was 10 years old. Anyone that knew Michael and spent time with him knew this was his passion. His most favourite things were to entertain people with music, song and humour. He had an amazing way with people, and made any person around him feel at ease with his company. Once you met him, it was hard not to love him. One of Michael's most notable accomplishments was his performance at Rainbow Stage in the musical BIG in 2001, based on the movie starring Tom Hanks. He played Billy the 12 year old best friend of main character Josh . He loved every minute of it and it showed in his performance. He was privy to more than a few standing ovations when he took his bow at the end of the show. Michael had his share of problems like anyone else, but he tried his best and was always willing to repay any act of kindness with whatever he could offer. He volunteered at the Siloam Mission in Winnipeg, and would also entertain the people there during mealtime with his guitar. He would sing songs of hope to those he could relate with. In the short time he was here, he impacted many lives and left a mark behind that will be remembered by anyone he knew. A piece of our hearts went with you Michael, but we replaced it with all the good memories you left us with. We love you and we miss you. A private family burial will take place Friday, May 7, 2010 and a public service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Geysir Community Hall near Arborg, MB. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Teen Challenge, 414 Edmonton Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2M2, phone 204 949-9484 www.teenchallenge.mb.ca Any questions please contact: Neil Bardal Inc. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Today is April 22, 2016. I just came upon this obituary by accident today. I did not know this was available till now. It seems odd I would find this today as Michael has been on my mind so very much, especially this time of year. On May 1st, it will be 6 years since you left our lives. I find that hard to believe as it seems like yesterday that we gave each other a big hug, a kiss on the cheek, and said, "I Love You" to each other. That memory is the one I hold the dearest to my heart. Then there are times when it seems like eternity since I last saw your face............I am the rememberer, the person left behind. To keep the one who's gone from us, alive in heart and mind. The person left to cherish and preserve a legacy. Yes I am the rememberer, and I will always be. I Love you Michael forever and miss you so very much. - Posted by: Lois Fridfinnson (I'm Michael's Mom) on: Apr 22, 2016
