WILLIAM GEORGE HUGHES June 28, 1923 - May 3, 2010 It is with heavy hearts we announce Bill's passing May 3, 2010, while residing at the Deer Lodge Centre. Bill was predeceased by his wife Florence, his parents, brother Bud and son-in-law Glenn Jasper. He is survived by his son Bill (Lynda), daughter Laurel, his grandchildren Jenna Jasper (Jay), Dylan and Kylie Hughes. His great-grandchildren Parker and Jacob, brothers Jim (Shirley), Richard and their extended families. Bill joined the Navy in 1940 and upon his return began working for C.P. Rail where he was employed for 44 years, retiring in 1983. Bill and Flo were married in 1947 and moved into their home on Munroe Avenue in 1949. Bill lived there until moving to the Deer Lodge Centre. He was an avid golfer and spent his summers golfing at Rossmere G.C.C. He also loved to swim and spent his winter days at Concordia Pool. Bill also enjoyed the many weekends spent at Flanders Lake fishing and hunting. According to Bill's wishes cremation has taken place, there will be no formal service at this time. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at Deer Lodge (T5) for their compassion and care in looking after our father for the past few years.
