ELIZABETH JACKS Elizabeth Jacks of Okotoks, Alberta (formerly of Winnipeg, Manitoba) passed away peacefully at the Foothills Country Hospice on Friday, April 30, 2010. Elizabeth was born November 19, 1912 in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Jacks, her son, Richard (Dick) Jacks, her grandson, Richard (Rick) Jacks, her parents, five sisters and one brother. Elizabeth relocated to Okotoks, Alberta at the age of 87 to be with her grandsons and daughter-in-law. She was fiercely independent and although in failing health in the last couple of years, she remained in her home until the last few weeks of her life. Although she lived in Okotoks for 11 years Elizabeth never ceased to miss her home in Winnipeg. However, she felt blessed to have lived in Okotoks long enough to enjoy her great-granddaughter, Julia, in whom she took great pride and delight. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rosemary Jacks, her grandson Tom Jacks, his wife Liv, great-granddaughter Julia Elizabeth, and several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth will be sadly missed by her family in Okotoks. In accordance with Elizabeth's wishes there will be no service. She will be interred with her husband at Brookside Cemetery in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A graveside service will be held this summer by family members from Okotoks and Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Foothills Country Hospice, Box 274, Okotoks, AB T1S 1A5. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I'm sorry for this loss to the Jacks Family! I lived across the street on Oakmont Avenue in Winnipeg from the Jacks. Richard (Rick) and I were chums / schoolmates. We played hockey together and played with their dog Brandy together. It broke my heart when they moved to Okotoks. Richard was my best friend as a young child. I loved the Jacks very much! I think of them fondly!❤ - Posted by: Cecil W Unrau (Family Friend ) on: Jun 02, 2014
