Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILETA (MIKE) (MICHA) ROVCANIN August 15, 1944 May 2, 2010 With deep sadness we announce the passing of Mileta Rovcanin at Grace Hospital on May 2, 2010. Mileta was born in Rudnica, Pljevlja, Montenegro. As a young man in April, 1966, Mileta emigrated from Montenegro leaving behind his mother, sister, sister-in-law and two nieces. After working for two years in Austria, on September 25, 1968 he immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, where he thereafter lived and worked. For 31 years until his retirement on September 1, 2009, Mike was a proud and happy employee of CP Rail at the Winnipeg Diesel Repair Facility. Micha was an avid soccer fan and attended all Winnipeg Fury games. In his later years he enjoyed gardening and could be found tending perennial plants named names after places in his homeland (Mote Negro Lilies, Banja Luka Tulips, Biokovo Cranesbill, Zagreb Coreoopsis). Mike is survived by Mairan Polansky, her sister Anne Polansky (Saskatoon) and relatives in his native Montenegro and Germany. All who knew him will miss his sense of humour and soft-spoken demeanour. Heartfelt expressions of thanks to the management and staff of the CP Rail Winnipeg Diesel Repair Facility for their many kindnesses and support. Sincere thanks also to Dr. P. Harris, nurses and staff of Grace Hospital CancerCare. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., with interment to follow at St. Vital Cemetery. Pallbearers will be colleagues from CP Rail: Roy Petrachek, George Paterson, Henry Savard, Ivan Perija, Ken Race and Frank Vidovic and honorary pallbearer Wayne Taraschuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Hospital CancerCare. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
