THERESA OLIVER It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother and friend, Theresa Oliver on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Grace Hospital. Terry was born in Vesprem, Hungary on February 13, 1925. She immigrated to Canada in 1928 with her Mom and brother John, to be reunited with her father. Mom met Bill, the love of her life, when he boarded his horse on her family's farm. The rest was history... they rode off into the sunset. They married in 1946. Many of their 50 years together, were spent living happily on Strathmillan Road in St. James with their four children. Mom worked as a dietary aide of the Grace Hospital for 25 years. Family was everything to Terry. She always took great pride in caring for her children, and in later years, celebrating the birth and achievements of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were always the apple of Grandma's eye and held a special place in her heart. Mom also enjoyed gardening, crafting, bowling, travelling and over the years attending the Shriner banquets. She was an avid knitter and most of us are proud owners of Mom's homemade blankets. She was a kind, gentle woman with a generous heart and was loved by all. She will be dearly missed and will remain forever etched upon our hearts. Predeceased by her parents (Theresa and John), her infant sister (Theresa), son-in-law Terry as well as her husband Bill. Terry is survived by her children Gord (Bev), Heather (Al), Bill (Heather), and Kelly; her grand-children Kim (Duane), Marney (Cory), Craig (Roberta), Todd (Carla), Andrea (Darren), Charissa (Jeff), Shawn, Christopher; 10 great-grandchildren, brothers John (Norma) and Frank (Diane), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at Suite 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6, or a charity of their choice.
