MABEL LISKA (nee BARBONOFF) March 12, 1920 - May 5, 2010 Mabel Liska passed away peacefully at the age of 90. She was born March 12, 1920 in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. Mabel and her sister Lucille lived with their grandmother from an early age. Mabel met her husband John and moved to the Estevan area. After her husband's death in 1996, she moved to Winnipeg where her oldest daughter Dolores looked after her. Mabel developed many health problems in the last few years. Remembered and loved by her family of three daughters and one son and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dolores McCartney, Joanna Lietz (Herb), Ken Liska (Charlotte), Sherry Jenish, and all their families living across Canada. Mabel loved her family dearly and told them so often. She had a love for animals, cooking and knitting. Mabel worked part-time at different jobs throughout her life, but taking care of her family was her main concern. She loved watching baseball but especially watching her children and grandchildren play. Mabel was an avid card player who could play for hours and did so up until the night before her death. Mabel always had an interest in religion. In 1992 she dedicated her life to Jehovah. She loved Jehovah and his son Christ Jesus and believed in the promise of the resurrection to life in paradise. (John 17:3; John 3:16; John 11:25). We miss her dearly and await seeing her in the resurrection. Memorial service to be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 1060 Wolever Avenue (east entrance), Winnipeg, MB.
