ALBERT LAWRENCE (BERT) MARTIN 1915 - 2010 Peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2010, at 8:45 a.m., Dad continued his journey to join Mom, who predeceased him on April 30, 2007. Born on January 6, 1915, Dad married the love of his life, Kathie on July 1, 1939. Together they raised five sons, Russell (Linda), Norman (Sharon), Ken (Jill), Terry (friend Brenda), and Paul (Caryn). Mom and Dad taught their sons the value of honesty and hard work. Dad will be fondly remembered by many friends, relatives and neighbours, especially his brother Ernie (Edie), his 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Bert enjoyed fishing, golfing, curling, and in his later years was a faithful Moose and Goldeyes fan. He loved to take Mom to the horse races to celebrate their anniversary, which became a family tradition. Bert and Kathie enjoyed socializing while traveling the world, especially Texas, Florida and Barbados. They had many good times and good friends at the Airline Rod and Gun Club at White Lake. Dad loved to dance and had been known to dance all night with his wife and daughters-in-law, unlike his sons. A special thank you to the wonderful staff of the Wellington and the compassion of the Charleswood Care Centre. At Dad's request, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
