Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE-MARIE BEATRICE PILCIC (nee ROY) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend Rose-Marie Pilcic on May 7, 2010 at the age of 63 years. Rose-Marie was predeceased by her father Jean-Baptiste Roy. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 42 years Joseph, children Nadine LaBorde (Ken), Michel and granddaughter Cyprianna who was her pride and joy. Rose-Marie is survived by her mother Simone Roy, sisters Whitney (Jordan), Sylvia, Gisele (Claude), Pauline (Pat), Aline (Phil), Marcelle and Michelle (Edward) and brothers Roger (Mary-Ann), Guy (Linda), Alain (Tahirih), Romeo (Tammy), Jean-Louis and Marc. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Ivan (Maria) and Stefan (Carol) and sisters-in-law Danica (Drago) and Bernardina (Ivo) as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose-Marie grew up in Ile des Chenes, Manitoba and graduated from St. Charles Academy later earning her teacher's certificate. She pursued her teaching career for 13 years before dedicating herself to her young family. Rose-Marie possessed a strong faith and took on many volunteer positions throughout her life with the church. She dedicated over 20 years to Adoramus ministries and was instrumental in the planning and execution of many religious retreats across the country. She made numerous friends throughout this time and was an available and patient resource to all. Although Rose-Marie had been homebound for the last ten years she was a self taught computer whiz which enabled her to continue her volunteer role. Rose-Marie was truly one in a million. All those who knew her can attest to her kind and caring nature. She was a wonderful mother and provided love and nurturing to her own children as well as many others. Mom's wit, sense of humour and undeniable upbeat attitude never wavered even during her long hospital stay. The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the ICMS staff at Saint-Boniface Hospital, especially Helena, Leo, Marcel and Lynne as well as the nurses on 7 south. Thanks also to Father Robert McDougall for his spiritual guidance and support. Prayers will be held, Thursday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Green Acres. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Martyrs-Canadiens, 289 Dussault Ave., Friday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow interment. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to an education fund for her granddaughter Cyprianna at any Royal Bank Branch in the name of Cyprianna Pilcic, the Manitoba Lung Association, Saint Boniface Hospital Research foundation or a charity of one's choice.
