ELVIRA DITTBERNER 1943 - 2010 On May 8, 2010, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt went home to be with her Lord. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Burkhard, her faithful husband for 46 wonderful years; her two children Andrew (Jennifer) and Sonia (Ken McCorkle); five grandchildren Kayla, Daniel, Beth, Jaden, and Joy, as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces and especially by her sister Erika (Ray Henschell). She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her two brothers Art and Helmut Rauser. Elvira came to Canada with her family from Germany in 1954. She learned to be a hairdresser and later owned and worked in her own hairdressing salon on Ellice Avenue. After her children were born she devoted herself wholeheartedly to be a stay-at-home mom. She loved her children, and later her grandchildren very much, and left many wonderful memories with each one. During her last five years she fought a courageous battle first with Myasthenia Gravis and then with lung cancer. Despite her suffering, she was a great inspiration to many, and her deep faith in God kept up her spirits to the very end. Elvira had a great gift of making friends with almost anyone she met and will be missed deeply by many. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, with Ken McCorkle officiating. There will also be a memorial with a short devotional and a time of sharing on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. also at Klassen Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. - 338-0331 Condolences may be sent to www.klassenfuneralhome.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • This is 2 years since Mrs. Dittberner went home to Glory and I just ran across this recently. I don't remember Mrs. Dittberner, but I remember Mr. Dittberner. He may remember me or my name, I don't know. From 1964 to 1976 I went to Sunday School at West End Gospel Hall. Later that year I accepted Christ as my Saviour; I was 15 years old. I vaguely remember the children Andrew and Sonia. I see they are now married and have children of their own. I'm sorry for your loss. You have that wonderful hope that each of you, who know Jesus as Saviour, will see your loved one in Glory. - Posted by: Rob Plouffe (Past acquaintance of the family) on: Aug 11, 2012
