PETER BRUCE BALLANTYNE It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Bruce Ballantyne at the age of 63. Bruce is survived by his wife Olga, sons Scott and Brent, their grandparents Ben and Shirley Matthews from Vancouver, sister-in-law Donna (Chris) Nicolls from Vancouver, sister-in-law Julie Bobowski from Winnipeg, sister-in-law Wilda Ballantyne and nephews Rob (Sandy), Gary (Donna), Brian and families from Vancouver. Bruce was predeceased by his first wife Karen Matthews, his parents Peter and Ella Ballantyne and his only brother Stewart Ballantyne. Bruce worked at MTS for 32 years. He loved his family and was especially proud of his two sons Scott and Brent. In his spare time Bruce enjoyed spending time with his family at his cottage at Beconia for over 28 years. He also enjoyed wine making, hunting and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a good handyman around the home and enjoyed time with his close friends. Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to a charity of your choice.
