THERESIA ROMANCHYSHYN It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Theresia Romanchyshyn on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Bethania Personal Care Home at the age of 82. To cherish her memory, she is survived by her husband of 56 years, Philip; her three children, Joe (Diane), Eva (Evert), John; and three grandchildren, Danielle, Stephanie, and John. She is survived also by her sister Elisabeth Lukas (Nikolaus); brother Josef Schoenhofer (Berta); sister Hedwig Neufeld and sister-in-law Theresia Schoenhofer. Theresia was predeceased by her parents, Josef and Anna Schoenhofer; brother Karl and nephew Richard. Theresia was born in the western Ukrainian village of Muenchenthal (Muzylowyczi) on July 15, 1927, immigrating to Winnipeg in 1953. After marrying Philip in July 1954, she thereafter dedicated her life to raising her family and doting on her grandchildren. Theresia was a generous, giving person who very much enjoyed gardening, cooking, her day-time dramas, German music, and time spent with family. Cremation has taken place, with a memorial service to be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. A private family interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6; Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2E1 or a charity of one's choice. The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to the many staff and volunteers at Bethania Personal Care Home for their kindness, compassion, and wonderful personalized care provided to Theresia over the past three years.
