KATHRYN TUMMON Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, Kathryn June Bernice Tummon, beloved mother of Dan Hunter (Dayna) and Tanya Comeault, passed away at St. Boniface Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Toronto, she was 57 years old. Lovingly known as Kitty, she was a warm and beautiful person, a caring mother and a spirited woman. She will be remembered for her sense of humour, her gentle kindness and compassion, and her nurturing ways. She encouraged others to reach for the stars, yet accepted everyone for who they were. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Eric and Bryce Comeault and Tyler, Matthew, and Michael Hunter. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. Predeceased by her first husband Brent Hunter, she is survived by her children and grandchildren, former husband Jack Hares; sisters, Karen, Kimberley, Sherrilee and Dorothy; and her brother Terry. She was the favourite aunt for many devoted nieces and nephews. In her final years, she could often be found helping residents and staff at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home and Central Park Lodge. A small service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in her name.
