He enjoyed his retirement days in his second passion at the end of a hammer as he did minor repairs at his cottage at Victoria Beach and major building with sons John at the Dugald area home and Gordon at his cottage at Victoria Beach. He maintained his independent life style in his own house in East Kildonan until he was well over ninety and ended his days at the Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank where he enjoyed the company of his family and the Home Care Workers.
