DAVID FRIESEN 1929 - 2010 David Friesen slipped peacefully into the presence of his Saviour, Jesus Christ, at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, May 13, 2010. He is survived by five brothers, four sisters and his beloved wife Marion (née McKinnon). He is predeceased by his parents, one sister and one brother. David was born in Halbstadt, southern Manitoba. His wages from mining and construction paid for fees at M.C.I. (Gretna) and university. David taught in Selkirk High School from 1962 to 1985, but he was a prairie boy at heart in many ways. Marion sincerely thanks staff at Concordia, especially the Health Care Aides for genuine care given since January 28. Interment will take place Saturday, May 15, at 4:30 p.m. at the Halbstadt Cemetery. Memorial service on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the River East Mennonite Brethren Church, 755 McLeod Avenue. Donations in David's memory may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or to Habitat for Humanity.
