ALLAN (AL) RUSSELL NIXON It is with great sadness our loving husband, father, grandfather, cousin, and friend passed away suddenly on May 9, 2010 at the age of 65 years young. He is survived by his best friend and wife Jeanne Nixon; daughters: Cheryl (Jason), Michelle (Luis), and Melody (Len); stepsons: Jason (Sabrina) and Jeff (Donna); loving relatives and cherished friends. Very special to him were his grandchildren: Josie (Chris), Amanda (Tim), Jessie (James), Adriana, Matthew, Jared, Reilley, Phoenix, Gavin, Lucas, and Bryant. Al lived an exciting and adventurous life. He was a truck driver, a sailor, and a farmer. He loved the water, especially sailing, the smell of fresh cut wood, grease on his hands, friendly conversation, and most of all time with his family. He touched the hearts and lives of all he met with his gentle wit, sense of humour, and knowing smile. A celebration of Al's life will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon, Manitoba. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Happy birthday cuz. Miss you and love you. Did alot of crying and laughing today thinking about all the good times we had. I really wish you were still here and I could bring my family to meet you and make childhood memories for them like you did for me. Rest in paradise. - Posted by: Melissa Davis (cousin) on: Nov 11, 2013

  • I just gave birth to my 3rd and last baby on September 24th. His name is Ryder Michael Allan Miles. We named him after you. I'm sure you will watch over him and our other kids as well. I tell them stories of all the crazy things we did. They always look at me like I'm weird when I'm telling them but I just remind them that they were good times when I was a kid. I will always cherish the time I had with you. Every now and then I look through the pics of the sailboat we worked on together. I just wish I could have went sailing with you just once on that boat. I'm sure we will have lots of time to sail together in the future. - Posted by: Mel Davis (Cousin) on: Oct 09, 2013

  • i remember all the times hanging out at the Trimac yard working on your rig. i couldn't wait to come to corunna to see you. my dream was to become a truck driver when i grew up. you were my inspiration for that. i now have children of my own and i show them the pictures of us in your driveway working on the sailboat you had at the time. we never did get to sail together but im sure we will someday. i love you so much and miss you all the time. everytime i pass a trimac truck i remember that day on the highway racing mel in her little s-10. love you and see you someday in the future. raise some hell up there big guy. keep on trucking xoxo - Posted by: Melissa Davis (cousin) on: May 08, 2013
