DR. DOUGLAS STEWART HODSON Passed away suddenly in a California hospital after an acute illness on May 7, 2010 in his 81st year. Lovingly remembered by his daughter, Heather Hodson (Andrew) and his cherished granddaughter, Neela Todd of Vancouver. Neela adored her Gramps and will miss him dearly. He leaves behind his brother, Dr. W. Alan Hodson (Judy), and sister, Dr. Beverley Evans (Dennis) of Toronto and many nieces and nephews who will remember their Uncle Stew fondly. Stewart was raised in River Heights, attended University of Manitoba where he graduated with a BSc, later receiving a medical degree from University of Toronto and another specialty in anaesthesiology from University of Washington. He practiced medicine in Ontario and California for many years before retiring to to his home in San Felipe, Mexico, returning every summer to his home at Victoria Beach. Stewart had a big heart, was a good friend to many and appreciated people from all walks of life. His kind and generous spirit will be remembered in our hearts forever. A memorial service is planned for July at Victoria Beach.
