PAUL KLASSEN After a two-month illness, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Paul Klassen, passed away quietly on the morning of May 15, 2010. He was 76. He leaves to grieve, his wife Katie; sons, Gary (Val) and Greg (Ian); and his grandchildren, Carina (Corey), Jadyn and Brett. He was predeceased by his parents, Susan and David Klassen; and his oldest sister Anna; as well as brothers-in-law, Martin Hiebert, Jake Driedger and James Dyck. He is survived by his siblings, Aaron (Helen), Henrietta, Marie, Ed (Anne), William (Dona), Elsa (Wern), Katherine (Gert), Ernst, Susanna, John (Alice), Charles (Margaret), Stan (Lona) and Victor, as well numerous nieces and nephews. Over his life Paul was a farmer and real estate agent. He was known for his collection of jokes, his keen interest in politics, his generosity, his love of family and the pride he felt for all the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His family would like to thank the following individuals: Dr. Vanamyde, Shirley, the night nurse (and all the medical staff) at Grace Hospital, Dr. Borrett and George Neufeld for his many visits. His wife and sons extend a special thank you to sisters, Marie, Elsa and Katherine for their tireless efforts to comfort and care for Paul through his difficult days. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20 at Fort Garry Mennonite Fellowship, 150 Bayridge Ave. If friends desire, donations to honour Paul Klassen may be made to Canadian Foodgrains Bank, 400 - 280 Smith Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1K2.
