Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH DOWNING Mrs. Elizabeth Downing, aged 88 years, of Beausejour, MB, dearly beloved wife of the late Alfred Downing, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Beausejour District Hospital. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, bingo, gospel music and raising chickens. Elizabeth is survived by her sons Howard, William, and Victor Popiel, her grandchildren and sister Anne Finnie also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred, her son Richard, her brothers Abraham, Frank, Richard, John and Peter, her sisters Mary, Katharine and Helen and by her parents Frank and Mary Thiessen. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elim Baptist Church, James Street, Beausejour with Pastor Jeff Kilmartin officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour on Thursday, May 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jack Knight, Victor Popiel, Jake Harms and Ryan Popiel. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in her memory may be made the Beausejour Health Centre, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
