Born in Maangas, Lagunoy, Philippines on January 14, 1926, Godofredo immigrated to Winnipeg, MB in November 1979. He described his first winter as the same ice you would find in an ice box. Since his arrival, he lived a humbling life working odd jobs, while keeping his family together. Although he encountered adverse circumstances, he had a zeal for life, a contagious humour, and an unquenchable love for his family. He loved to amuse his family with tales from his childhood and anecdotes about his life in the Philippines. He was known for his long-winded goodbyes that would often last late into the night. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. The legacy of his life will not be soon forgotten. We will carry you always with us, Lolo. May you rest in the arms of God. Lamay/Prayers to be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. on Wednesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 20 commencing at 6:00 p.m. and concluding at the request of the family.
