ROSS OLSON July 5, 1939 - May 18, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ross Olson, with his daughters by his side, on Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Remaining to forever cherish Ross' memory are his daughters, Lily, Jennifer and Kim McKenzie (Richard); three grandsons, Kyle, Tristan and Liam; brothers, William (Beulah), Don (Helen), John; as well as numerous friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his wife Betty, of 33 years of marriage; parents William and Dagny Olson and his brother Vernon. Ross was born on July 5, 1939 in Rainy River, ON, but resided most of his life in Winnipeg, MB. He retired in 1995 after 32 years of service with Pioneer Grain. He will be remembered for his gentle and kind spirit. There is not a place where Ross would go where he didn't know someone or meet new friends. He remained strong during his three year battle with cancer still living life to the fullest with his family and many friends. His witty sense of humour and charm will be missed by all. On Friday, May 21 Ross' Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the St. James Legion No. 4, 1755 Portage Ave. Our family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ross' memory may be made to the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
