GEORGE ERNEST HUDON October 8, 1928 - May 18, 2010 It is in loving memory and with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Ernest Hudon on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at the age of 81. George will be missed by his three children: Cynthia (Robert), Edward (Heather) and George Phillip (Roberta). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Tory, Barrett, Reston (Katrina), Reva, Harley, Avery and Matthew. George was predeceased by his sisters, Helen and Genevieve. Also left to mourn are his special friends, Flora and Dennis. George was born in 1928 to Marian and Moise, and spent his childhood in Winnipeg. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B. Sci., Pharmacy in 1952, married his high-school sweetheart, Lorraine, that same year, moved out to Morris and started their family. George managed the Eatons downtown pharmacy for many years, then accepted a position with Tamblyn Drugs, which meant moving the family to Toronto and Sudbury. After returning to Winnipeg in 1971, he purchased and ran the Memorial Dispensary in the Abbott Clinic until he decided to retire to his favourite place, his own back yard. There was nothing he enjoyed more than sitting out back with a book in one hand, a beer in the other and his beloved dog Maggie at his feet. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Parish, 249 Arnold Avenue, (Arnold at Osborne Street), followed by an interment in St. Joachim Cemetery, La Broquerie, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 would be appreciated. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO.
