MARY DEPAPE (nee PETERS) On May 17, 2010, Mom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joanne and Ozzie Rempel (Kaitlin, Karina), Wanda and Kim Wright of Foremost AB (Adam, Ben, Cale, Zoe), Brent (Jo, Keila), Carla and Brian Hatherly (Dana, Gillian, Maclean), Darcy and Yolanda (Arah, Leah, Garrett), and Trevor and Laurie (Ryan, Jacy, Jordan, Cole). Also surviving are sisters-in-law: Sister Maria DePape, Gabie DePape, Paula DePape, brother-in-law Joe DePape and wife Raymonde, cousin Margaret McMillan, several nieces, nephews, as well as relatives in Scotland. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Bert DePape (1994), parents Joseph and Elizabeth Peters, brother Jim Peters, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Mom was born in 1926 and grew up in Winnipeg's West End where she attended Isaac Brock Elementary School and Daniel McIntyre High School (1944). Following graduation from St. Boniface General Hospital School of Nursing in 1948, she worked at SBGH, the Hebert Reddy Memorial Hospital in Montreal, and for Home Care in Winnipeg. She married Dad in Westmount, Montreal on July 22, 1953 and subsequently moved to Winnipeg where they raised their family in Norwood. For the past 10 years she resided at Sts. Peter and Paul Manor in the company of many new friends. Mom cherished time spent in the company of her children, their spouses, and grandchildren. She was quick to inquire about her grand-children's activities and enjoyed attending their various activities and special events. Mom will be remembered fondly for injecting her wonderful humour into any situation. The family would like to thank Dr. A. Mehta and Ginette, Dr. A. Leylek and Deb Scott, Dr. A. Chowdhury and Linda Davidson, and Germaine Leger from WRHA Palliative Care Program. Special thanks to her dear friends for the loving care, comfort and support they gave to our Mom.
