PATRICIA G. EVERETT Every so often someone comes along who is in total harmony with life. Effortlessly they bring a sense of happiness to everyone they meet through their smile, their eyes, their conversation and in so many other ways. They are not overly aware of this extraordinary quality and so they strive to perfect themselves and to achieve as the rest of us do. But they have long since reached a goal that eludes most of us because they contribute so much to the joy of living. Such a person was Patty Everett. She died peacefully and with great dignity in the company of her family on May 19, 2010. Patty was born in Fort Francis, Ontario on May 16, 1927 to Charles and Bethan Gladstone who predeceased her as did her sister, Jane Gladstone. She is survived by her husband Douglas, whom she married in 1952; their six children and their spouses and 11 grandchildren. Patty was educated at Queenston School; Rupertsland Ladies College and the University of Manitoba where she graduated from the School of Interior Design. Prior to her marriage she was a copywriter at Eaton's. She trained in theatre and ballet and took a lively interest in the collection of French antique furniture; German porcelain and 18th and 19th Century English pictures. She was known to have an excellent eye . Her taste for beautiful art matched her extraordinary intuition for people. Her family wishes to thank her long time physician, Dr. J.R.A. Smart, and those who provided Palliative Care at home and at Riverview Health Centre. A memorial service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, Wilton and Grosvenor at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Flowers are gratefully declined but if you wish to make a donation to The Winnipeg Humane Society, the family would be most appreciative.
