GERMAINE POIRIER On May 20, 2010, our dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully went to be with our Lord at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 84 years. Mom raised a family of seven in the early years on the farm while dad also worked in Winnipeg. Moving to La Salle in 1960 where she continued to cultivate a large garden with dad and the help of her children. Harvest time meant long hours of canning, pickling and freezing large amounts of vegetables for her family to enjoy all year round. In 2008, mom and dad moved to Dakota House where they made new friends and re-acquainted with a few old friends who happened to also have made Dakota House their home. Mom was very close to her dear sister Mary, visiting her as often as she could until she went to meet our Lord in February 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, Aubert (December 20, 2008), mother and father, Louis and Delina Hogue, brothers Alfred (Ann), Alcide (Aurore), Marie (at the age of seven in 1919), Mary Novak (John), Thomas, Edward (Lucille), George, Philippe (Bernice and their daughter Bernadette), Ulysse - Tim (Elaine), Victor and sister-in-law Helen. Prayers will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of the Resurrection celebrated by Father Maurice Jeanneau at the Saint-Hyacinthe Roman Catholic church in La Salle, MB on Thursday, May 27. Interment will take place in the La Salle Parish Cemetery following the mass. Family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Misericordia Health Centre and Foyer Valade where mother lived for a short time and to the staff at the Victoria General Hospital Emergency and 5th floor and St. Boniface General Hospital Emergency Ward and Imaging centre for the kind and compassionate care they gave mother.
