RICHARD JOHN LANYON June 18, 1923 - May 17, 2010 Peacefully with family at his side Dad, Husband, Father and Great-Grandfather Richard passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre Veterans Unit Monday, May 17, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Remaining to forever cherish Richard's memory are his loving wife Florence, of 64 years of marriage; sons Bruce, Roger (Barbara); grandchildren Andrea (Jason), Allison (Shawn), Trevor and his great-granddaughter Alyssa. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Beatrice; brothers William, George, Frank, Gordon, Albert and sister Florence. Dad was very proud of his service in the Second World War in Europe where he met and married Mum. He was also very proud of his employment of 39 years with Air Canada as an avionics technician. On Tuesday, May 25, 2010 a private family Service for Dad will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. The family would like to thank the staff of T4 Unit at the Deer Lodge Centre for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7 or Crohn's and Colitis Society, Box 88 Station Main, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3G 2G1.
