JOAN ELSON 1934 - 2010 With much sorrow, her family announces Joan's passing on May 16, 2010 at Health Sciences Centre. Joan was born on April 8, 1934 in Guildford, England. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband, Raymond, choosing Winnipeg as their new home. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Irene Proctor, and most dear friend, Philip Anwyl. She will be greatly missed by Ray, son Paul, daughter Meredith, grandsons Jonathan and Andrew, and daughter-in-law Yvonne. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Health Sciences Centre. Their caring treatment was greatly appreciated. In accordance with Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place. A time of remembrance for family and friends will be held on the afternoon of Friday, May 28, 2010 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the home of Paul and Yvonne Elson, 32 Polydore Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 and/or Parkinsons Society of Manitoba, 7 - 414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2.
