PHYLLIS DOREEN SHINER (nee WILLIAMS) It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Phyllis on Tuesday, May 18 2010 at Deer Lodge Centre after a two year struggle with dementia. Remaining to forever cherish mum's memory are her two daughters Susan (Sam) Castagna and Pauline (John) Dyck; three grandchildren and their families. In Great Britain; brother and sister-in-law Fred and Sylvia; brother Tony; sister Alice; sister-in-law Beryl and their families. She was predeceased by her husband John in 2000 and her brother Stan in 2010. Phyllis was born on April 21, 1926 in England, where she met and married John. They moved to Canada in 1967. She was a member of the British Wives Club before it disbanded, and enjoyed line dancing and casino outings with her friends. Phyllis worked in a couple of nursing homes and finally ended her working career in Eaton's. In compliance with Phyllis's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. Special thanks go out to the wonderful nurses and staff at the Deer Lodge Centre; Lodge 7 and T3 for the excellent care, compassion and patience that they showed. Also we would like to thank the staff on N1N at the Concordia Hospital for your care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis' memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Unit 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or a charity of one's choice. YOU'LL BE MISSED MUM
