Born: Jan 28, 1919
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMS. AMELIA (MILLIE) WORNYCK Millie Wornyck was born in Winnipeg on January 28, 1919. She was an only child to her mother, who predeceased her in 1985. Millie worked at Eaton's in the mail order and toy departments as well as in a poultry factory. Millie lived in the Corydon area for many years. She moved to The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg in April of 2007. Millie had no known living relatives but she was well known throughout the Corydon area community due to her daily walks. She continued her daily walks after moving to the care home. Area residents would call the care home to check on her if she hadn't been seen out walking in a few days. Millie was a very sociable and pleasant person and she will be missed by those who knew her. Thank you to the staff of The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their kindness to Millie during her stay there. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, 276 Hugo St. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

Millie came into our lives around 1970 at 288 Langside ave where we shared the 2nd floor and a common bathroom. I had my little family and she was with Harry her partner. We lived as a Family as we were constantly together. Millie like clockwork would come home and take out their mild mannered Lassie for their walk. We became very close and when we moved to Ross Ave our friendship continued for a number of years. Millie with Harry participated in every family event that we had. Millie would always have her camera and would take many pictures that we still cherish today along with 8 mm film. Today I thought of Millie as I held a plate that she once gave us along with a few other souvenirs, and wanted to call and speak with her hoping that she would still be there as she was when I called in the past. It is with sadness and wonderful memories that now flash through my mind that bring warmth and Love for Millie that I will continue to Cherish. I can still hear her laugh and see her smiling as she walked with her Lassie. Millie, we loved you then and still love you now, you will remain cherished in our hearts forever .
