MARY ELIZA BANGARTT Mary slipped peacefully away on the evening of Monday, May, 17,2010 at the Concordia Hospital. Born Mary Eliza Simpson on October 24, 1919 in Ballycastle, Ireland. Along with her parents Samuel and Jane Simpson, Mary immigrated to Canada when she was just a toddler and took residence in Transcona where she lived her entire life. Mary was predeceased by her parents, young sister Annie, and brother Sam, Mary's first husband John (Scotty) Miller in 1968 and her second love Henry Bangartt in 1992, daughter- in-law Alexandria in 1980. Mary's only child Curtis, was taken in September of 2009, Mary also lost Kay Blaikie, who was more like a sister than a cousin to her in 2008. Left to cherish Mary's memory are her granddaughters Tara Lien (Doug), Lacey Miller and her friend Mike, daughter-in-law Cindy Miller, cousin Maureen Sheldon and the Blaikie family. Respecting Mary's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary's name to the Transcona United Church, where Mary enjoyed many friends, listening to the choir and trusted in her faith.
