EVERET HAROLD SIDWALL March 19, 1917 May 24, 2010 With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Everet Sidwall at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Margaret; his children, Karen, Grant (Rita) and Craig (Eve); his sister-in-law Mildred and brother-in-law- Alvin (Faye). Also left to mourn are his grandchildren, Karina (Chris), Rich, Shaun (Julia), Kyle (Kristie), Kati, and Mat; along with three great-grandsons, Everet, Liam and Cohen. Dad farmed near Eriksdale, in Nord School District for his entire working life, and was always busy solving problems, inventing and fixing his machinery, and caring for his family, cattle and horses. He was a helpful neighbour and active in the community, serving on the Nord School Board, the Idog Vasa Lodge, the Eriksdale Consumers Co-op Board, the planning committees for many Eriksdale reunions, and as a founding member of the Board for the new Hospital. He had many happy memories of being helped by his Hammerback nephews in the hayfield. The end of farming was followed by a very pleasant retirement on the farm, as he invented and built devices to help him as his health created problems with normal activities like cutting wood. In 1997, Mom and Dad moved to the little house in Eriksdale, where he enjoyed his new workshop/garage and became a Blue Jays fan. In 2007, they moved to Lindenwood Terrace in Winnipeg, to be nearer to their family. The family thanks the staff of the fourth floor south of Victoria General Hospital for their caring and helpful treatment during a difficult time. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eriksdale Recreation Centre, with Bill Watson officiating. Viewing from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Nord Cemetery, followed by coffee at the Recreation Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the E M Crowe Memorial Hospital Guild, in care of Irene Sigurdson, Box 474, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0. Arrangements Entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home, Ashern, MB 1 866 293 4951
