ELSA FRIESEN October 15, 1923 May 24, 2010 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Elsa passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 86 years. Elsa was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Peter Friesen; and brothers, Arthur and Peter Friesen. She is survived by her sister Anna Gossen; sister-in-law Tina Friesen; nieces and nephews, Linda (Grant) Friesen, Ernie (Elaine) Friesen, Elsie (Craig) Guenther, Robert (Lilli) Friesen, Karl (Sharon) Gossen, Arthur (Laurie) Gossen, Marianne Gossen (Allan), Giesela (Robin) Davidson and Margaret Gossen, as well as numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Elsa was born in South Russia (Ukraine) and immigrated to Canada in 1949. She worked for 40 years with CancerCare and specialized in cancer research, retiring at the age of 65. During retirement she enjoyed genealogy and travelling. Viewing will take place 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethania Personal Care Home for the patience, understanding and care given to Elsa.
