DARRYL HONER It is with deep sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Darryl John Honer, on May 24, 2010 at the age of 53 years. Darryl will be forever in the hearts of his loving wife of 27 years, Susan and their children Evan and Shayla. He will also be missed by his mother Doreen, his brother Norm, his sisters Joy (Wes) Brisson, Cindy (Joel) Mazur and their families; by his mother-in-law Joyce Derraugh and sister-in-law Mary Louise (Al) Phillips; along with his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Darryl was predeceased by his father Norman, and his father-in-law, Stanley Derraugh. Darryl was born in Winnipeg on September 5, 1956, and grew up in Elmwood. While working with CN he attended the University of Manitoba and graduated from the Faculty of Engineering in 1983. Continuing with CN, he took positions in Montreal, Edmonton and Winnipeg. Darryl's joys in life included his family, his music, tinkering with various fix-it projects, and taking long walks with his dog, Finnigan. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital at the M/S ICU-E2 for their exceptional care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darryl's memory may be made to Winnipeg Harvest or the St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Ave. In accordance with Darryl's wishes, casual dress is encouraged. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue.
