MYRTLE GAINOR DOUGLAS (nee BENSON) Peacefully on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Valley Memorial Home, Grand Forks, ND. Born Myrtle Benson in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 19, 1916. She was predeceased by her first husband, Martin Gainor, son, Grant Gainor, her second husband, Ken Douglas, her parents, Harvey and Gertrude Benson, sisters, Pearl Guertin (Norbert), Joyce Levy (Sid), brother-in-law, Charles Gainor. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Brian Gainor (Joyce), stepchildren, Gordon Douglas, Judy Chester (Dennis), grandchildren, Tara Clark (Tod), Leah Soltis (Jeffrey), Steven Douglas (Joan), John Douglas (Anna), Lisa Douglas and their mother, Evelyn Douglas, Lindsay Rakowski (Janek), Erin McFerran (Brent), and great-grand-children, Ty, Taya, Tanner, Ayden, River, Jamie, Scott, Emma, Wesley, Allison, Ivan, Kasia, Noelle, as well as many relatives and friends. Myrtle was employed by T. Eaton Company in Winnipeg and First National Bank in Milnor, ND. Her years in Milnor, ND were very precious to her and where she and her husband, Martin raised their children. She and her second husband, Ken enjoyed their retirement years in Mesa, Arizona. Our family would like to thank the staff at Tufte Manor, Edgewood Vista and Valley Eldercare and a special thank you to Mary Beth Martin for the loving kindness shown to our mother in her later years. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in Milnor, ND at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined and if friends and family so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of their choice in Myrtle's name. We love you and we will miss you forever, Mom.
