HARRY MUZYKA It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our father, Harry Muzyka on May 28, 2010 at his residence in East Selkirk, at the age of 66. Harry will be lovingly remembered by his three children Corey, Jason and Marcy; aunties Sophie Babiak and Annie Babiak; brother-in-law Nicholas Borodey and his friends and family. He was predeceased by his wife Gerry and parents John and Dora. At a young age Harry spent many long hours on the vegetable garden and at the farmers market with his parents. He then started a family and had three beautiful children with his wife Gerry, of 36 happy years. Harry was employed by Swifts and Canada Safeway for many years as a butcher. Harry is a business man, he owned and operated the successful hotdog stand, Lanky's, in Grand Beach with his family for 23 years. After the tragic loss of his wife Gerry, eight years ago, he filled his emptiness with fishing and spending time at the lake, playing bingo a couple times a week, gardening, cooking and of course spending quality time with his children. He also enjoyed his winter trips to Arizona with his friends, filled with lots of memories. Harry was an animal lover; he had four furry friends in his life: Chopper, Sasha, Kona and Oscar, that miss him already. Our Dad was a strong, good hearted and caring man; he made us proud to call him our father. Love you and miss you! Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Harry's memory to Canadian Diabetes Association. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I am sorry to hear about your father. I met him once but have heard a lot of great stories from my mother Olga, his 1st cousin. We are a good fun loving family. Your father loved life. I wish we could get in touch with each other and share some stories. I remember visiting your grandparents on the farm. They were great people too. I still remember the time when we were sitting at the kitchen table and uncle Harry and my dad spilt dome salt on the table and dipped a peeled onion into the salt and ate the whole thing. I also remember the turkeys in the barn and how your father taught me how to call them. They are good memories of your father's family. Please call me. I am in erected in keeping in touch.
