THELMA FLETCHER March 23, 1923 - May 31, 2010 Thelma Fletcher (Gill) passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital at the age of 87. Thelma was predeceased by her husband Robert Fletcher, her parents Cliff and Mary Gill, her brothers, John, Tom and Bernard, her sister Florence, and her grandson Dereck Fletcher. She will always be lovingly remembered by her sister Helen Wilde, six children, Bob (Brenda) of Guelph Ontario, Pat (Donna), Bert (Lesley) of Clayton, North Carolina, Rick (Sharon), Jack (Mary), Don Fletcher; and her closest friend Elma Gill of Atlanta, Georgia. Thelma was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and her many family and friends here in Canada and the US. Thelma touched the hearts of so many people during her life. Her many friends at the Sargent Park Pool where she worked, loved her energy, sense of humour and compassion for others. All those close to her possess a crocheted blanket as a memory of her. One of her favourite pastimes was spending time at the lake or the Bingo hall where she loved to socialize with her friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held in Thelma's memory at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave on Friday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or Manitoba Heart Foundation.
