DONNA HELEN MCRAE (nee MACDONALD) April 13, 1935 June 3, 2010 On Thursday, June 3, 2010, Donna died at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 75 years. Remaining to forever cherish Donna's memory are her two daughters, Linda-Ann Madill, Debbie (Tom) Sharp; five grandchildren, Eric, Colin, Jessica (Josh), Andrew, Ben and great- grand-daughter Hannah. She was predeceased by her parents, Ida and Greg Macdonald and brother Bill. Donna was born and raised in Winnipeg. As a military wife and mother, her independence and resourcefulness allowed her to successfully raise two daughters as the family moved frequently from one base to another in western Canada and Germany. In 1979 she returned to Winnipeg and worked as a bookkeeper before retiring from Cargill Inc. in 1997. Donna's hands were always busy. She was accomplished at knitting and crocheting, but her passion was cross-stitch. She read avidly and solved many crossword puzzles. Donna loved to curl and continued to follow the sport after her playing days ended. In compliance with Donna's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at the Victoria Hospital, especially the nurses and aides on 3 South. Donations in Donna's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6.
