MARY MCDONALD (nee VAN CRYENEST) It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother Mary at the age of 88 on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, with her family at her side. She is now in the loving arms of God and reunited at long last with her husband Alphonse. Left to cherish her memory are daughters Gloria (Brian), Sharon (Andy), Debbie (Brian) and son Don (Diane), grandchildren Andrew, Jeff (Gayle), Cary (Mandy), Lisa, Bret (Athalie), Lindsay (Jason), Jesse and great-granddaughter Isabelle, sister-in-law Marie, as well as special friend Dorothy and her family. Mary was predeceased by her husband Alphonse, her daughter Darlene and her brothers Joe and Gerry as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law. Mary was born and raised in St. Boniface to Constantine and Elodie (nee Martin). Mom was a kind caring person, who always put her family first. She was a wonderful, mother, wife and grandmother. Her greatest love was her family and she lived for her loved ones. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally with her whole heart. She loved being a mother and grandmother and she was great at it. Her grandchildren often described her as their own personal Saint here on earth. She will forever live in the hearts and thoughts of her family and those who knew her. Mary touched the lives of many with her good nature and love for people. Those who were fortunate enough to know her will remember her lovingly. Special thanks to Dr. B. Shah, Dr. Lezak and Dr. Zaki as well as the nurses and health care aids for their care and compassion, who she lovingly entertained throughout Mom's lengthy stay at Seven Oaks Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9.
