Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONNA MARY YOUNG 1938 - 2010 Peacefully, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, with family by her side, Donna Mary Young (Course) passed away at Concordia Hospital after a long illness. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Doris and John (Jack). She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bruce and the pride of her life, her sons, Evan (Stacy), Stuart and Derek, as well as; her grandchildren, Kieran and Payton Young. Donna was born in St. Vital on the 1st of May 1938 and resided in Winnipeg all her life. She attended high school at Glenlawn Collegiate and from an early age expressed a great love of music and played the piano as often as she could with a frequently admired singing voice. She played baseball, badminton, curled, was a competitive target shooter and paddled with the Canoe Club. Over the years Donna worked in many roles, among them Homemaker, Building Manager, Statistician, Confidential Courier and Church Secretary. She volunteered for over 30 years with Scouts Canada acting as section leader with her sons and later as group secretary and treasurer for the 121st St. Bartholomew and 1st Southdale Scout Groups. In 1998 Donna was awarded the medal for good service from Scouts Canada. In recent years Donna and her husband have also enjoyed working with the CBC Retiree's Association. Our family wishes to extend their thanks to the many health professionals and volunteers at St. Boniface and Concordia Hospitals and other facilities that helped to care for Donna. A celebration of Donna's life will take place at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 881 Autumnwood Drive on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Vital Cemetery. Our family invites her friends and family to luncheon in the Church Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scouts Canada Manitoba Council, St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church or to a charity of your choice. Thanks Mom! NEIL BARDAL INC.
