Every now and then I google people I have encountered in my life. Jake hired me to work at 2 of his service stations back in the 80s during my college years; Whytewold Gulf and Unicity Gulf. So this is years late of course, but sad to hear nonetheless. Of his family, I only met Reg, and his girlfriend at the time Ingrid. My much-belated condolences to all. Jake employed a lot of young kids, and I often get to tell people of my time and experiences working at his gas stations. I like to think of my time at Whytewold Gulf as my own personal "Corner Gas".
