HELEN CLARK 1912 2010 Helen Clark died at the age of 97 on June 5, 2010 at Concordia Hospital. She was born on December 29, 1912 in Rivers, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer (Nobby) Clark and her three brothers and three sisters. Aunt Helen is survived by four generations of nieces and nephew, Darlene Laflamme, John Solimka, Dorothy Laplante, Walter Solimka, Margaret Morgan (Michael) all of Ottawa; Roselyn Bond (Bruce) of Burlington; Mary-Jean Currie (John) of Burlington, Margaret-Ann MacDonald (Robbie), Sharon Middlestead (George) and Terry Kenny all of Winnipeg; Sandra Holland (Larry) of Victoria, BC and their respective families, and sister-in-law Lila Wagar of Ottawa. Helen was employed by C.P.R. Passenger Services as a reservation clerk and ticket agent. Helen travelled to many exotic and historical places. For many years she was a member of the Seniors Swim Club at Centennial Pool, where she was challenged to do synchronized swimming and ten mile swims in which she competed four times. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, doing crafts and playing bingo. She will be remembered for her sense of humour, kindness and integrity. A special thanks to Sharon and Margaret-Ann as the primary care givers for their generosity of time and unwavering love. Also to Margaret in Ottawa for her devotion and consistent phone calls to check on her well being. The family also wishes to thank all of the health care providers, especially Maureen, Carol and Stacey, Nurse Barbara and Dr. Darcy Johnson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Memorial service will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
