Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVAN DAVID JOHN KING 1989 - 2010 Evan, much loved son of Joann and Richard King, left us suddenly on Thursday, June 3, 2010 as the result of a tragic car accident. Our Evan is survived by his parents, Richard and Joann; sister Jacquelyn (Garry) and niece Sofia; brothers Jordan (Kristin), and Braedan; grandparents John and Joan Murphy and Gordon and June King; Auntie Jayne (Wayne) Paradis, cousins Michael and Catherine; Uncle John (Josepha) Murphy and cousin John; Uncle Chris (Debra) Cousins Kelsey and Kara; Auntie Cathy King (Bruce) and Cousins Karston, Travis and Kyle; many many special Aunties and Uncles and Friends. Evan was born on December 11, 1989 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1992, the family made the move to Winnipeg and they started construction on their future home in Gimli where they became permanent residents in October of 1993. The same day that the Blue Jays won the World Series! Evan was a huge sports nut and participated in anything and everything possible. He was adventurous and determined and would throw himself into everything with an intensity that was both scary and admirable. His favourites were Curling, Hockey and Slow Pitch baseball until recently, when MMA (mixed martial arts) became his newfound passion. Evan made many trips to Winnipeg to become the next George St. Pierre. His skills were not just limited to participation. Evan's mind was like a computer when it came to any sports stat and sports trivia. Good luck winning any debate on sports if you disagreed with Evan. Evan was a hardworking and loyal employee. He started working at 12, when he finally wore down the owners of IGA into giving him a job. At 14, he went to work at Super A, where he remained for five years until last year when he tried his hand at something completely different; becoming a full time Petroleum Transfer Technician at Husky! From Employers to Co-Workers to Customers, Evan had a knack for building strong lasting relationships everywhere he went. Evan had many Families and he loved them all! The most important thing in Evan's life was his Family (including his pets Chloe, Stanley, Kemo, Jack and Teddy). He loved his Sister and Brothers with a fierce intensity. His niece Sofia's arrival gave his world a new light and certainly a new love. Evan loved spending time with family of all ages. Christmas' spent with his Cousins, Aunts and Uncles, and Grandparents; Family trips; Sunday Night Steak Night; Watching UFC and Hockey and just hanging out with his Family - this is what made Evan's world go around. Friendship was vitally important to Evan and he had many friends of all ages. Jason, Mitch, David, The Josh's and Clayton were his closest friends and he loved them. We know it's important to Evan that all his friends know how much their friendship meant to him. Evan loved life with intensity. He would pull every ounce of enjoyment from every moment. From snowmobiling, hockey, slowpitch, playing video games and riding roller coasters, watching Evan enjoy life was a joy to behold! His smile could brighten the darkest day. Oh Evan, how we miss your smile. Love was to his impassioned soul, not a mere part of it's existence, but the whole, the very life-breath of his heart. Moore A celebration of Evan's life will be held on Friday, June 11 at 12:00 p.m. at The Fraserwood Hall on Highway 231 in Fraserwood, MB. Flowers gratefully declined.
