CORA JEANIE BELL (ARGLE)
Date of Passing: Jun 07, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCORA JEANIE BELL (nee ARGLE) After a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, June 7 2010, our eternally loved Mom, Grandma, and Great-grandma, Cora, passed away in peace at the Ste. Anne Hospital with her four children at her side. Mom was born on February 3, 1931, in Hazelridge in the family home on the farm, sixth child of seven, first daughter of George and Jeanie Argle. Mom attended school in Hazelridge and after graduating from high school, Mom went to Normal School after which she accepted a teaching position at Pinewood School, south of Ostenfeld, with a class of 13 students, grades 1 to 9. She boarded at the Bell's, and there she met and later married her beloved George, affectionately known as Dode , who predeceased her in 1983 at the age of 61. Together they built a new home in Ostenfeld where they raised their four children. She is sorely missed by her sons, Andy Bell (Kathy), Charlie Bell (Jean), daughters Cathy Moslenko, and Eileen Boriskewich (Mark). She was extremely proud of her grandchildren, including Janalee Boychuk (Craig), Andrew Bell (Ingrid), Jason Bell (Cheryl), Matt Bell (Kristi), Dan Bell (Jennifer), Carla Reitmeier (Jason), Nathan Bell (Isabelle), Corey Moslenko (Leah), Grant Pyke (Sarah), Greg Pyke (Melissa) and Cameron Pyke. Also six great-grandchildren were the sparkle of her eye including Paige and Evan Boychuk, Eric and Rachel Bell, Samantha and Ashleigh Reitmeier. She leaves behind brother Earl (Evelyn), sister Mae (Gerry), sisters-in-law Hilda, Norma, Eileen, Margaret (Jim), along with many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Dave, Fred, George and Charlie, and sisters-in-law Jean, Catherine. Mom's love and generosity touched the lives of so many people through her work as a Home Care worker, her unending support of church groups including the ELCW (treasurer), Church Council, Sunday School and VBS, fund-raising projects, teas, World Day of Prayer and many others. Her compassion for others extended far beyond her family and her passing leaves a great void in her community. No words can express the thanks we have for all her doctors' care, or for the care of the nurses and hospital staff in Ste. Anne, the Home Care workers whom she dearly loved, Pastor Reimer or all her friends who gave their love and time to support her in her battle. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., at the Ostenfeld Lutheran Church in Ostenfeld. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery on the church grounds. Mom loved flowers and was exceptionally gifted at growing them, however in lieu of flowers, following her wishes that in her memory, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Ostenfeld Lutheran Church.
