Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAGDALENA (MAGDA) MARUSIC Peacefully, on June 5, 2010 Magda passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital with family at her side. She was born May 12, 1922 in Karmel in the Republic of Slovenija daughter of the late Amalia and Joseph Pikovnik, she was the eldest of five siblings. On July 10, 1951 she married Stephen Marusic. Magda and her three young children would later reunite with her husband to begin a new life in Canada. Her petite stature did not deter her from the challenges that faced her, as she worked full time outside of the home, took care of her family as the sole provider for most of her married life. She was feisty and tenacious with a wonderful sense of humour combined with a flair for the dramatic, which was enjoyed by all who knew and loved her. She was an excellent cook and after 16 years of service as a primary cook at Holy Family Home, she retired and was able to enjoy her children and grandchildren. Years later she would return to Holy Family Home as a resident of the nursing home. She enjoyed games of chance, gardening, and occasional out-of-town road trips as well as church functions with friends and family. Magda was predeceased by her husband in 1999, and sons-in-law Manuel Finkleman and Jack Berard. She will forever be loved and deeply missed by Joe (Pat) Marusic of Coon Rapids, MN, Millie Krause of Winnipeg, MB, Ayn Nelson of Winnipeg, MB; Grandchildren - Craig (Sue) Marsusic of Coon Rapids, MN, Lisa (James) Young of Coon Rapids, MN, Payton Krause of Winnipeg, MB, Nicole (Egon) Schneider of Winnipeg, MB, Justin Nelson of Winnipeg, MB and Sydney Krause of Montreal, PQ; Great-Grandchildren, Brynna, Calvin, Addy Marusic of Coon Rapids, MN, Baleigh and Maggi Young of Coon Raids, MN, Zenon and Mateo (Mud) Schneider of Winnipeg, MB. A Heartfelt and Special Thank You to the wonderful staff at Holy Family Home. MOTHER'S LEAVING Mom's eighty-eight; death has to come Yet sadness I know still. But in her space I won't remain When eyes begin to fill. I'll show her only happiness And not the pain inside By going deep within to where Fond memories reside. And when I can't contain my tears The place that I will go Is out into our garden where They'll make her flowers grow. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
